Exercise on the National AI Cybersecurity Readiness Metric

The GCSCC is developing a National AI Cybersecurity Readiness Metric (‘the Metric’) to enable nations to benchmark their existing readiness and provide an evidence base for future AI cybersecurity decision making. This tool will meet growing demand from nations to better understand how they should manage AI cybersecurity risks and is aimed at supporting countries at all stages of readiness.

The Metric has been developed through a series of trials, advisory workshops and revisions. We are now seeking to refine the latest prototype Metric through further consultations with global and national AI cybersecurity stakeholders and publish a finalised version in early 2026.

The aim of this workshop is to Introduce the latest version of the Metric to global AI and cybersecurity experts and conduct a tabletop exercise testing the application of the Metric in a fictional national context. Through this exercise the GCSCC research team will test the application of the revised Metric and work with the multistakeholder community to further strengthen the tool.

Audience: AI and cybersecurity experts with experience in international cybersecurity capacity building (CCB) and strategic cybersecurity policy development.
