In June the GCSCC is leading the technology stream at the 2025 OPEN Forum, taking place at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, on June 24, 2025. The event will bring together more than 100 experts from across UK government departments, agencies, and academic disciplines to explore a vital question: How can the UK become more resilient to major national risks?
The Forum will focus on key risk areas: Environment and Energy, Human Health, and Technology.
The technology stream will concentrate on the evolving challenges and opportunities at the intersection of cybersecurityand artificial intelligence (AI), examining how rapid technological change is expected to reshape power dynamics, economic stability, and national security.
The stream will address three core challenges:
-
Cybersecurity for AI – How can we protect AI systems from attacks and misuse?
-
Securing AI Supply Chains – How will we ensure trust, transparency, and integrity in the development and deployment of AI technologies?
-
AI Opportunities for Cybersecurity – In what ways can AI enhance threat detection, response, and resilience?
Together, these sessions will advance a critical conversation on how the UK can strengthen its technological resilience in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. We look forward to contributing to this important discussion and continuing our efforts to help build a more secure, resilient, and forward-looking technological future for the UK.
