Global Conference on Cyber Capacity Building

The Global Conference on Cyber Capacity Building (GC3B) is scheduled to convene in Geneva, Switzerland on the 13 – 14 May 2025.

The GC3B 2025 aims to drive actions in line with the Accra Call, the outcome document of the GC3B 2023 which consists of a set of actions that promote cyber capacity building and support broader sustainable development goals.

Participants will convene to coordinate strategies, share best practices and resources to support countries in strengthening their digital foundations and pursue the objectives of the Accra Call through their own internal processes and mandates.

The GCSCC is pleased to confirm that we will be participating in several sessions at the conference. These include:

Addressing the AI-Cybersecurity Nexus: Priorities for National Capacity Building (Hosts)

Session Overview

Over the years, the CCB community has built an understanding of how to benchmark national cybersecurity capacity and address unique national needs. However, without careful focus on how AI shapes these needs, there is a growing risk that nations will face critical gaps in technological capabilities, and legal, regulatory and policy frameworks.

Countries need to prepare for this, but the CCB community will also need to adapt its programs to ensure that they effectively mitigate the contemporary risks that nations are facing.

• What actions are needed by the CCB community to ensure that interventions at national and regional levels are effective in addressing emerging AI-cybersecurity risks?

• Can a tool such as an AI Cybersecurity Readiness Metric for Nations add value to national efforts aimed at strengthening capabilities to withstand AI-related cybersecurity risks?

Cyber Resilience in the Age of AI (Speakers)

Session Overview

Cyber capacity building efforts must evolve to address the security risks posed by AI and assess whether current approaches are adequate for today’s challenges. At the same time, leveraging AI can support and enhance these efforts, making them more effective and sustainable, and inclusive.

• What does the AI revolution mean for cyber capacity building?

• How can AI support cyber capacity building efforts and make them more effective and sustainable?

• How to build partnerships between the Global North and Global South to ensure AI systems and services meet the specific needs of Global Majority countries?
