The on the 7th May GCSCC’s Director Professor Sadie Creese facilitated a workshop at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Industry Strategy Meeting 2024 in New York.
The workshop “Digital Defences: The Evolving Cyber Threat” brought together senior executives responsible for corporate strategy, innovators, academics and public figures. They all came together to discuss and shape approaches businesses can take to build digital defences and meet ever-evolving threats.
The objectives of the workshop were to raise awareness on the importance of cybersecurity in business strategy; explore emerging and exacerbating threats to business strategies and operations; and identify successful approaches to prepare for future cyberattacks and ensure cyber resilience.
Sadie said: “The practice of cybersecurity needs to connect closely to the strategic needs of the organisation. Therefore, it is imperative that we as an expert community take every opportunity to listen to the needs of business leaders, and seek to invest in controls that enable us to implement solutions that are demonstrably in support of the business mission.”
We would like to thank the WEF for the opportunity to participate in this important event and we forward to shaping the future of industries together.
The annual WEF Industry Strategy Meetings bring together senior executives responsible for corporate strategy, innovators, academics and public figures.
